Captain Marvel- Review

As part of the MILLIONS of people who made it to the movies in the last few weeks, I watched the Captain Marvel movie. I was VERY skeptical about it. Why? Because I hated her comic books. I hate characters who are over developed, given all this powers and seem invincible. So, when my kid said, he had to go see the movie, I took him the day after opening day. I was very upset about it too, but I sat there with phone in hand as to boycott my reason for being there.

So, the movie started and saw Brie Larson on screen, yes the same lady who bashed the actors
of the Marvel universe once upon a time. I was already cursing her out on my head and
saying “What a hypocrite, money hungry bitch!”. The Jude Law came on screen, I was never a fan of his,
but him being part of the HP movies has warmed me to him; well some. He was a
great Dumbledor. Anywho, the first hour went by and I was glue to the screen.
I have to admit the movie made me like Captain Marvel for the first time. All the little
easter eggs kept me going. All the little pieces of the Marvel movies coming neatly
together, made me sigh of happiness. By the second hour, I was fan of the Larson lady and
a better fan to Law. By that time I had forgotten my phone and was happy to be there.

Yes, I know I have not spilled any bits of the movie and I won’t. All I am saying is,
if you are a Marvel fan, go and watch the movie! And I will admit I went to see it one more time
with my daughter a few days after. She also hated the comics, but when my son and I went
home excited about the movie, she was curious to see it. She also became a convert to
Captain Marvel movies.

Now to wait a few weeks for End Game!

Helllo! My name is Stefanie and it’s nice to meet you. So, a few weeks back a friend and I went to a
well known restaurant in our area called The Bayou; It’s located in Easton, PA.
For years I have heard it’s very good, but having lived in the south,
no need to say I was very skeptical and maybe a little cynical.

The Bayou is located in the center of downtown Easton. For those of you who play Pokemon Go,
there’s plenty of Pokestops and gyms all the way to the restaurant; also plenty of Pokemon to catch.
Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn’t have a parking lot, there’s always off street,
which in this case wasn’t an option, because of all the ice and snow on the streets and sidewalks.
But there’s a parking garage about 4 blocks over. No more than an 5 minute walk to the restaurant,
if you don’t get too distracted playing Pokemon Go.

Anyways, we arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes before the reservation. The hostess took us
straight to the table, which by the way was next to a Pokestop; a win win for me. The restaurant
looks like a renovated every day bar in the French Quarter. From the windows, lights and even
the tables; no need to say the restaurant has character. The menu doesn’t have a lot of options
but all the options range from small to large plates. After being seated for about 5 minutes our waiter
finally found us. The menu selection was very New Orleans oriented. I ordered a Voodoo Queen
for a drink, but without the rum but double the vodka. The waiter warned me it was going to go
straight to my head and honestly, it didn’t disappoint. The drink had fruits in it and was served in
a mason jar, but so did Lorene’s; we were very impressed. Too bad once our drinks were gone
the waiter was nowhere to be found to order a new one. By the time he got to us, we were so over
waiting, we settled for the water he had brought us when he first got to the table.

Lorene order the small plate of jambalaya, me on the other hand I ordered breaded chicken with
squash and pickles. I must say, Lorene’s plate was impressive and looked delicious. My plate
wasn’t a plate, it was a plank full of food. Now, I love to eat and, there was a guy in another table
who couldn’t finish his plate; but I finished all mines with a little help from Lorene. I was so full,
it was hard to breath. The chicken had a tad of spices to it and the chicken was cooked to perfection.
To be honest I have no complains about my food at all; it was delicious. Was it a true south
experience? That’s a big NO! But it’s way better than other “southern” restaurants in the area.

Over all, it was a good experience, besides all the waiting around for service but, the food
was great. Would we be back? I highly doubted. If we are going to pay prices like that, we expected
better service.

Introduction

Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Stefanie but most people call me Stefi. I live in the norther states in the A of the US of America. Probably the worst place for me to live in since I hate the cold. But either way here I am. I’m a tropics girl stuck in a winter wonderland. I mean it’s cold here 6-7 months out of the year, it’s ridiculous. Now that I have said how much I hate I must admit it’s a beautiful state. All the greenery and the mountains, they are all breathtaking. I am very blessed to life in such beautiful state.
But anyways, let me tell you a little about myself. I am a Latina woman who has 2 wonderful teenagers. They are my world. We have our struggles but we are a tight family. Soon they will be adult but I have hopes they stay close by. I will miss them terribly if they choose to go away. Right now I’m the average woman, with an average job which I hate most days but pays the bills.
I have always had a passion for writing so I decided to start a new blog. Maybe something will happen to me since the States have become a dangerous place to live in. When I moved to America many years ago, I was fleeing a dangerous country when I dodged bullets on my way home from school. Now, here it hasn’t gotten as bad but racism has become a real thing once again. Living in PA has become hazardous when they preach and show kids in school to hate others. As a mom I had to make myself known at my kid’s school for years to let them know I will not tolerate their intolerance because we are not “white” per say; even though we are all born American citizens. Doesn’t matter my family has served for many generations but anyways, I guess such is life.
I believe this should be good enough for a quick introduction. I’ll be posting random stuff here as time passes. I have the sudden urge, life should be documented as much as I can. Well, hope you enjoy your day and life! Oh, and thanks for stopping by!

The Star

Once upon a time there was a shooting star. The star made me feel all the love and warmth in the world. It showed me how to see the colors I always took for granted and, made me see the landscapes with brand new eyes. We strolled down the hills hand in hand. Named all the new unknown colors and, laughed at the wind while skipping from sea to sea. Happiness was all there was and for the first time, I had hope in my world.

There was a time the star was all my eyes ever saw. With the vision came love like never before, pain and gratitude for all things experienced. It was such a great time to just breath. The star showed me how to smile and push away all the past's pain. Forget, all that hurt me and was after me. The star made sure I was never alone, even when it was in far away lands.

He knew of a day where I was only shown kindness when I was among the others. On such day, the star made the day grand! All was smiles, gifts of kindness, love to spare and laughter for days. I never asked it for anything, but it was all given freely. I was never left to feel unwanted. All it ever did was show me how happiness was all around if I chose to take it. A true friendship based on trust, love, wanderlust and kindness.

In the last few years I've forgotten what happiness was supposed to be like. All the lessons were forgotten by bad decisions I made. I am the only person to blame. Lately after many prayers and circumstances, I've been remembering the star and its lessons. I feel as if my time with it, I have taken it for granted. Not everyone gets a star as I did. Its light was taken away from this world but its lessons still live deep within me. Now when the day of kindness and its passing approaches, all I can think about is its lessons.

Someday I'll be strong enough to move away  and let go from what holds me back. But for now I will always remember my time with my eternal Shooting Star...
